United should welcome back striker Steve Kabba who has recovered from a hamstring injury and after coming off the substitutes bench at the Emirates Stadium will be looking to push for a place upfront with Rob Hulse.

Neil Warnock however will have to contend with six players out injury; one key player missing is keeper Paddy Kenny who is out with a thigh injury and is not clear as to when we will be back.

Elsewhere Neil Shipperley (knee), Nick Montgomery (ankle), Danny Webber (hamstring), Michael Tonge (ankle) and Chris Short (thigh) will all miss the tie with Middlesbrough.

Possible Blades Line-Up: Ian Bennett, Leigh Bromby, Claude Davis, David Unsworth, Derek Geary, Paul Ifill, Phil Jagielka, Mikele Leighterwood, Alan Quinn, Steven Kabba, Rob Hulse.

Boro manager Gareth Southgate goes into this game trying to overturn the 1-0 defeat inflicted upon them last Saturday by Blackburn Rovers. On loan striker Shabani Nonda (AS Roma) netted the winner on 27 minutes.</FON
