    Notes
¶Derby County, in last place with one victory in 23 games, became the fourth team in the English Premier League to come under American ownership after General Sports and Entertainment completed a deal Monday to buy 93 percent of the club for $100 million. Liverpool, owned by Tom Hicks and George N. Gillett Jr.; Manchester United (the Malcolm Glazer family); and Aston Villa (Randy Lerner) are the other teams owned by Americans. In all, nine Premier League teams are owned by non-British citizens or companies.
G.S.E., a marketing company based in Rochester, Mich., has minimal experience owning sports teams, according to information on its Web site. The company ran the Fort Wayne Class A minor league baseball team for eight years. It said it planned to turn Derby County into a global brand, which seems like wishful thinking considering its current record.
¶Soccer fans who use the Mozilla Firefox Internet browser may want to check out an extension to the program, called FootieFox, which can provide live scores from 190 leagues and cups in 60 countries.
The extension can be downloaded at http://addons.mozilla.org.
¶In the Netherlands, Michael Bradley, who is reportedly being watched by several teams in the English Premier League, scored two goals Saturday as Heerenveen vaulted into third place in the Eredivisie. He has 11 goals in league play.
Bradley, the son of the United States national team coach, Bob Bradley, is under contract at Heerenveen for another 18 months, but teams like Manchester United, Everton and Blackburn have been tracking his progress and could make an offer before the current transfer period ends Thursday.
