Klinsmann, 41, who is based in California, resigned from his post with Germany after the World Cup finals and said he would take six months off.

Eitel told German newspaper Bild am Sonntag it was still unclear whether Klinsmann would accept either offer.

"He has enough work to do right now. We will have to wait and see," said Eitel.

The Mexico job has been vacant since the summer when Ricardo La Volpe's contract ended following their defeat by Argentina in the second round of the World Cup.

US coach Bruce Arena's contract was not renewed after his team failed to make it past the group stage in Germany.

Klinsmann spent two years in charge of Germany and led them to the semi-finals of this year's World Cup as host nation. </TD></TR>
