Eagles Coach To Travel Next Month
Super Eagles Head Coach Amodu Shuaibu will travel to the United Kingdom at the beginning of next month for his much –publicized ‘attachment programme’ with top Clubs in the English Premiership.
Confirmation that the programme and the actual dates and movement of the Head Coach had been sealed came from Mr Chris Nathaniel, the London –based international sports marketing and entertainment promotion guru, who has been particularly determined about the programme.
Coach Shuaibu said at the weekend: “I am happy everything about the programme has been confirmed and I’m very much looking forward to meeting with these renowned coaches who are famous all over the world”.
Amodu Shuaibu steered the Super Eagles to a clean sheet in the second round phase of the 2010 FIFA World Cup/African Nations Cup qualifying race, and awaits Wednesday’s third phase Draw Ceremony in Zurich to know his team’s third phase opponents.
“The programme is great coming at this time and I believe it will definitely be worth the while”, added Shuaibu.
The Nigeria Head Coach is expected to arrive in England on November 3, and then be in Blackburn with Coach Mark Hughes on 6 –7 November. Hughes is one of the youngest coaches in the Premiership and was a top international.
Shuaibu then moves to Stamford Bridge to be with Coach Luis Felipe Scolari 10 –12 November. Scolari coached Brazil to win their fifth FIFA World Cup in Korea/Japan in 2002 and also coached Portugal. He was the leading candidate for the England job after the resignation of Sven-Goran Eriksson two years ago, but opted out as he feared the intensity of media intrusion into his private life.
The Nigeria Head Coach rounds up his tour with some useful tips from Manchester United supremo Alex Ferguson, who coached Scotland at the 1986 World Cup and has won several trophies with United since in his 22 years at Old Trafford, including two UEFA Champions League titles.

“In between these visits, we can meet current and new Nigerian internationals and watch a few European Champions League and domestic league games”, wrote Chris Nathaniel.
Shuaibu will fly from London to Bogota, Colombia, where the Super Eagles have an international friendly match against the host nation on November 19.
