ARSENAL'S new Japanese prodigy Ryo Miyaichi has vowed to set the Premier League on fire.
The skilful winger joined the Gunners last month after impressing during a trial stint last summer.
He is the second Japanese player to link up with the North Londoners after Junichi Inamoto signed for Arsene Wenger's side in 2001.
However, despite Inamoto failing to make a single league appearance during his solitary season with the club, Miyaichi insists he has what it takes to succeed where his compatriot failed.
The 18-year-old said: "I'm confident I have the ability to penetrate defences and hopefully I'll be given the marks that I am looking for.
"I just have to go there and give it a shot, compete and hopefully one day I will be standing on the pitch at Emirates Stadium."
Miyaichi has been likened to Arsenal legend Thierry Henry and Real Madrid ace Cristiano Ronaldo, but the former Chukyodai Chukyo High School captain was quick to dismiss the comparisons.
He added: "I don't feel pressured but I know in myself that I have nowhere near the talent of such great players as Ronaldo and Henry.
"I just have to do my best to one day come close to being the kind of players they are."
