You need to go back to Miss Johnson Grade 2 English class. My exact words were: "I have been [past tence] noted here and elsewhere for calling Maradona a tief, TH14 a tief and Suarez a scapegoat." In other words, I was only restating what I have stated before. So had I said "I have been noted here and elsewhere for calling Maradona a tief, TH14 a tief and Suarez a tief" unu woulda call me lie an' jump down me troat. :kissteeth:

Well, we agree that Suarez dived and Huth stamped on his chest. Where we take it next may be a point of departure. My point is that BECAUSE it was Suarez, there is no outcry, which is effery. That's where the hypocrits can take their business and smoke it. We can't have it both ways - fairness has to be the order of the day no matter who is involved.

Have I excused the behaviour? I have been noted here and elsewhere for calling Maradona a tief, TH14 a tief and Suarez a scapegoat. But I have not ever condoned Suarez or anyone else diving.

But the point is, some people are more equal than others, in the English media and this forum.

The truth is Huth did step on Suarez's chest that is a fact and it went unpunished. That doesn't change the fact that Suarez was trying to win an Olympic medal for diving.

No need to say you will give Suarez the bligh, I think we all know that by now.

Gamma, aren't you aware that there is a cultural dimension that cannot be overlooked? For example, when Maradonna handled the ball into England's net, the entire world saw the infraction as an injustice, but not so in Argentina. There are places in the world, Italy, Argentina, Uruguay among them where what you call "cheating" is actually taught to kids (i.e. showing them how to decieve the ref) dive, fein injury, shirt tug etc is far more prevalent in parts of the world than you may think. Suarez just hasn't adjusted. Some do - some don't. I am more inclined to give Suarez a bligh than the English players who dive as they (the English) want to carry on as if they are "holier than thou".
