How can the referee, Phil Dowd, call back a play at least 8 seconds after the offence when he clearly decided the offended player had the advantage. Whose problem is it that the player did not take advantage of that advantage?!!?

I do agree, however that it would have been a penalty even though the offence started outside the box. The offence continued into the box, so what's the problem?!?!
