Ralph Thomas, new Ambassador to Washington

I am elated with Ralph's new appointment. Sorry to see him leave China as I have some friends who just moved there, but the US job is a serious promotion. Well, some of us may say so.

It's not every day you can consider such a man as a personal bredren. Makes me feel a little important too!

Ralph is one of the coolest, humblest and most unpretentious persons I know.
