***Tim Ream was slow & tired 4 years ago, and can't get playing time at Fulham, but Berhalter selected him. Ignoring young, talented CBs, such as Erik Palmer-Brown & Cameron Carter-Vicker, who are starters, for their clubs, and performing very well.
***Walker Zimmerman, an average to above average CB in MLS, also selected over Palmer-Brown & Carter-Vickers.

Also see the push to include Paul Arriola, without him proving he's back, continues, when Julian Green's performance, this season, has proven that he deserves a selection.
Nico Gioacchini had a poor season, on a Ligue 2 club facing relegation, but he was selected over Andrija Novakovich, who had a very productive season, in a stronger league.
Berhalter continues to force Christian Roldan on us, while continuing to ignore Joel Sonora.
Not a fan of Zardes, the player, but he's scoring and a productive player, in MLS.

The fortunate thing for Berhalter --is that he has a deep rich pool of players to select from. That the squad may prop him up and let him look good by winning games.

Berhalter remind me of Zidan. Zidan won the CL with a ready-made good squad. His pedigree is still under debate..........
