They could have had all their players, their style of play is just too pretty and too SLOW to get them anywhere. At some point, you have to inject some speed in your attack.



They have been playing like that all season.

<P class=StoryText align=justify>MONTEGO BAY - Clarendon College created the first major shock of the ISSA Ben Francis Knock-out competition yesterday when they eliminated last year's winners Glenmuir High, 3-0, to advance to Wednesday's semi-finals.<P class=StoryText align=justify>Carl Bryant, Gregory Lewis and Andel Calman all scored in the first half for the former three-time champions, who will play Titchfield High who spanked Charlemont by a similar margin at Carder Park.<P class=StoryText align=justify>The other semi-final will see two Westmoreland schools - Frome Technical and Petersfield - meeting for a spot in the final.
Frome edged Munro College 2-1 at St Elizabeth Technical High in over-time, while Petersfield worked hard for a 1-0 win over William Knibb at Jarrett Park.<P class=StoryText align=justify>A deflected shot from Rondell Morris in the 11th minute made all the difference for Petersfield, who dominated the first half, but were saved by their goalkeeper Oshane Lewis in the second.
The game, played in overcast, windy conditions with a slight drizzle at the end of the first half, could have gone either way as both teams created a number of good chances.<P class=StoryText align=justify>William Knibb had the first chance as early as the third minute when Lewis charged off his line and a shot that was blocked by a Petersfield defender, ballooned over the defence but was cleared off the line.<P class=StoryText align=justify>Petersfield took the lead on one of their first attacks when Morris' shot from the edge of the 18-yard box was deflected and beat William Knibb's goalkeeper Kenardo Brown.<P class=StoryText align=justify>The Westmoreland school missed adding a second goal by inches in the 31st minute when the overlapping Carlyle Brown's flicked shot went just wide of the goal with Brown stranded at the near post.<P class=StoryText align=justify>Troy Reid, who had another outstanding game for Petersfield, bolted down the left flank and sent Henry through with a pinpoint pass.
William Knibb had their chances and Oraine Braham should have pulled them level in the 34th minute when he had Lewis at his mercy, but he hesitated and allowed the goalkeeper to block his feeble attempt.<P class=StoryText align=justify>Two minutes into the second half Lance Laing saw his chip shot saved by Lewis on the second attempt after he just managed to get his hands to the ball to knock it down.
The Trelawny school took over the game and surged forward, but were denied by a string of outstanding saves by Lewis, coupled with some poor decisions by their own players.<P class=StoryText align=justify>Yesterday's results<P class=StoryText align=justify>Titchfield 3 Charlemont 0

<P class=StoryText align=justify>PORT ANTONIO - Titchfield High School advanced to the next round of the Ben Francis rural area KO competition yesterday when they blanked Charlemount 3-0 at Carder Park.
Romaine Benjamin (15th), Adrian Wright (23rd) and Carlton Campbell (42nd) scored for the winners.<P class=StoryText align=justify>Titchfield, after sapping up the early pressure from Charlemount, turned the tables when the dependable Romaine Benjamin picked up a ball just inside Charlemount's half and passed to Carlton Campbell, who fired past goalkeeper Adrian Minott from inside the penalty box.<P class=StoryText align=justify>Titchfield went further ahead when a build-up involving Segaye Oakley, Campbell and Adrian Wright saw the latter getting by two defenders and kicking to the right of Minott, to the joy of their supporters.<P class=StoryText align=justify>Titchfield continued to dominate through Oakley, Campbell, Darrian Johnson and Wright, and the third goal was not long in coming.
Three minutes before the half ended, Wright's pass found Campbell, who moved to the right, pulling Minott with him and firing into the roof of the net for a 3-0 lead.<P class=StoryText align=justify>Winning coach Andrew Edwards was pleased with the result. "We had a very outstanding first half, but the momentum was lost in the second half due to the team falling apart mentally, as there was some tension and arguing. We had the result rapped up in the first half and advanced to Wednesday's game."
Titchfield played without Dever Orgill, who is being treated for injury. However, Edwards believes in his strong squad to take them through.<P class=StoryText align=justify>Wayne Stewart, the losing coach, was hard on the officiating. "I'm not pleased with the officiating, but Titchfield did well; they came out a hungrier team. But we'll be meeting again in the Inter-Zone round and my team will do better," he said.
