MONTEGO BAY, St James - The finalists in the ISSA Ben Francis Knock-out contest will be known this afternoon following the playing of the semi-finals in Clarendon and Westmoreland.

Former champions Clarendon College will meet Titchfield High at Brancourt, while Frome Technical and Petersfield will meet in an all-Westmoreland affair at Frome Sports Club.

Both games will start at 3:00 to allow for the playing of extra-time and penalty kicks, if necessary, to help decide Saturday's finalists.

The games are expected to be closely contested between teams that have overcome various obstacles to make it to the last four and will be putting everything on the line to ensure their passage to the next stage.

Given their shock 3-0 win over two- time defending champions Glenmuir on Saturday, Clarendon will take on the mantle as favourites to add to their three titles.

The Clarendon defence has stood out so far and after conceding just three goals in eight Zone H games, have not conceded any in two Ben Francis outings.

Titchfield also boast a strong defence, having conceded only six goals in 14 Zone L games before blanking Charlemont High 3-0 on Saturday.

Playing so close to home could give Clarendon the edge, but Titchfield have grown accustomed to playing away from eastern Jamaica and could give a good account of themselves.

Frome will be seeking to return to the final for the first time since 2000 when they lost in sudden-death extra-time to Cornwall College at Frome.

Despite being a few miles apart in Westmoreland, the teams have not met in an official game since 2003 when Frome won 4-2 in an Inter-Zone game.

The absence of several key players from Frome could tilt the scales in favour of Petersfield, who fought doggedly to get to the last four.

Frome will be without Delano Rankine, who is in Haiti with the national Under-20 team, while Kevon Wynter - who fractured his leg in Saturday's game against Munro - is out for the rest of the season.

This game will showcase what could be one of the best midfield battles this season with the diminutive Troy Reid of Petersfield clashing with the lanky Obrian Woodbine of Frome.
Today's schedule
Petersfield vs Frome at Frome Sports Club
