FROME, Westmoreland - The Inter-Secondary Schools Sports Association (ISSA), organisers of the daCosta Cup schoolboy football competition, is to beef up security at tomorrow's Inter-Zone double-header at the Frome Sports Club.
Dr Walton Small, chairman of the daCosta Cup Committee, yesterday told the Observer that they had started making arrangements to ensure nothing goes wrong.
The matches scheduled for Frome are Grange Hill versus Herbert Morrison Technical at 1:00 pm and Frome Technical versus Ocho Rios High at 3:00.

Frome's Clovis Crooks (right) is bundled off the ball by Herbert Morrison Technical's Romaine Thompson during their daCosta Cup Inter-Zone round match at Jarrett Park on Wednesday. Reports reaching the Observer are that Ocho Rios were leading 1-0 when Higgins punched a Grange Hill player and was in turn attacked by two members of the Grange Hill team. All three were sent off.
The game continued to deteriorate and two more Grange Hill players, along with Wilson, were subsequently sent off.
Dr Small said they had made arrangements for police from as far as St James to be deployed at the Frome grounds.
Teridene Grant, coach of Ocho Rios High, said while the team will always appreciate additional security, he did not think there was any bad blood between the teams and does not expect anything untoward to take place.
Grant said that except for the altercation between his player and the Grange Hill player whom he punched, he did not see any other problems.
Nine schools will be seeking their second win tomorrow in the second round of the Inter-Zone.

RE: ISSA beefs up security after Drax Hall incident

Beef up security for who? Is the players and coach behaving badly! ISSA need to issue out some serious sanctions to schools involved in such a disgrace. An example must be made of them! When the players and coaches start acting like that, it is ever so easy for the spectators to get involved, and that's when it nah go pretty!

Trust me, if this had taken place in Westmoreland and St Elizabeth and involved Grange Hill or any Westmoreland team it would not be pretty at all.
