    <SPAN class=headline>ROGERS INKS HEERENVEEN DEAL

US Under-20 attack ace Robbie Rogers has completed a move to Eredivisie side Heerenveen after a week of negotiations, signing a long term deal on Tuesday.

The Maryland Terrapin, fresh off an NCAA championship run, trialed with the Frisians in July before leaving for Milk Cup duty in Northern Ireland.

Rogers had a goal and an assist in the draw against Denmark, then returned to talk contract with the club after the US finished as runners up at the tournament.

"He has signed for three years, and there is an option for more," Heerenveen press offer Iwan van Nieuwanhoven told YA.

It is not yet known whether Rogers will start with the Young Heerenveen or the senior side, but he should get plenty of chances to impress coach Gertjan Verbeek as the two groups train regularly train together.

The 19-year old joins fellow Yank Michael Bradley, who arrived in January from MLS, at the Abe Lenstra.

"Donovan was excellent. We knew he was a good player, but he really didn't do anything wrong in the whole game and made it difficult for us."
