Two schools budding with promise — Grange Hill High and Ocho Rios High — watched as their hopes and dreams of schoolboy football glory vanished before their eyes.
Both schools’ chances of moving on were marred by a series of unfortunate events, with the most notable being an ugly incident where four Grange Hill players and their coach Linval ‘Palla’ Wilson were red-carded by referee Desmond Ranger for their role in a fracas in a 0-4 loss to Ocho Rios. Grange Hill were, however, in with a slim chance of advancing to their first ever quarterfinals.
Despite playing without the four suspended players, who are key to the effort, they managed to eke out a tough 2-1 win over Herbert Morrison to put themselves in with a chance.
Herbert Morrison who had lost both previous games and were just honouring their fixtures had other ideas, however, and gave what must have been an overconfident Ocho Rios a run for their money.
Playing for nothing but pride, Herbert Morrison led 1-0 for a long time as goalkeeper Tiano Alle
