HOSTS ST. Jago High made an impressive start to their Inter-Secondary Sports Association (ISSA)/Pepsi/Digicel Manning Cup campaign with an 11-0 thrashing of St. Mary's College yesterday.
Andr Vernal and Marcel Baker each scored a brace to help guide St. Jago to the emphatic victory. In the day's other games, Waterford defeated Innswood 1-0, Camperdown beat Greater Portmore 3-1 while Tivoli and Jamaica College (JC) ended 1-1.
Meanwhile, violence forced the abandonment of the match between former champions Charlie Smith and Denham Town at the Tony Spaldings Sports Complex.
Charlie Smith were leading 5-0 at the halftime when gunshots rang out near the main entrance of the compound, which sent a number of students and teachers scampering for cover.
