  • Shelly wash up or MVP playing possum?

Shelly don't appear to be doing much these days but big Franno is know to use him work load calculator to get it right on the big day. Lets hope him correct again because Veronica Campbell Brown & Kerron can be possum killers anyday.

LONDON, England — Jamaican athletes had to be content with a handful of minor medals on the second day of the two-day Crystal Palace Diamond League meet here yesterday.

A jaded-looking world and Olympic champion Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce could only muster 11.10 in placing third in the women's 100m won by American Carmelita Jeter in an impressive 10.93 seconds.

Fast-rising Trinidadian Kelly-Ann Baptiste filled the runner-up spot in a creditable 10.97. The other two Jamaicans in the race, Schillonie Calvert (11.23) and the veteran Aleen Bailey (11.36), were fourth and seventh, respectively.
Warren Weir clocked a personal best 20.43secs for second place behind Walter Dix (20.16) in the men's half-lap race.
Meanwhile, Jamaican-born Sanya Richards-Ross (49.66) captured the 400 ahead of the Jamaican trio of Rosemarie Whyte (49.84), Novlene Williams-Mills (50.46) and Olympic silver medallist Shericka Williams (50.64), who finished second, third and fourth, respectively.

...but we have to show respect to a Champion? Especially the Olympic and World Champion! VCB like Shelly is big race Champion sprinter, she has the speed and the nerves to knock Shelly off at the line.

The MVP-ites say Shell;y was running to instructions...that is execute the start and drive phase then lock it down after 60m or so.

Not sure these things work so close to a World Championships where psychological battles are just as important..how many times has Jeter beaten Shelly this season so far?

in Shelly's case, I don't think those head-to-head stats mean anything to her. she was always the underdog when she shot to fame at the 2 biggest meets, the latter being at the Worlds where many thought she could not produce another fluke.

Melaine does it as well. leading up the last World's she lost many times to her rivals. it's an MVP thing. it's just that Powell does not know how to break out of the possum skin when it matters! yes, i know, Kaliese is MVP as well.

one thing i won't take back - Jeter will not win the 100m!

Well said sir. I agree with you 100%. SAFP is a champion and after watching the race, it was obvious to me that she shut it down after 60m. I think she has Jeter running scared. Jeter was walking like she was shafe after the race......her balls dem a gash fyah......

If Shelly as running to instructions then you can put your mommy pot on fire and wait for Shely to deliver the salt thing.

Man Jeter is just like Powell, have potential but can't win the big races. Man Jeter lucky if she get a 100m medal this year.

Note - everytime you mention Jeter in a sentence it is preceded by the word "Man".

Just saying...the editors of Champs preview actually put her photo in the boys' section a few years ago... I would have no problem asking Carmelita out for a few drinks...
