Bolt now wants false start rule changed

World record holder Usain Bolt has changed his stance on the new false start rule which eliminated him from the 100 metres final at the 2011 International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) World Athletics Championships in Daegu, South Korea, after he jumped the gun.

Bolt, who failed to defend his 100 metres world title, said he no longer agrees with the sport's policy of disqualifying anyone who false starts.

He says the IAAF should go back to one false start and charge it to the field.

Meanwhile, Bolt said he was joking when he said "all the tutoring stopped" after training partner Yohan Blake ran the 200 metres in 19.26 seconds at the final leg of the Diamond League meet in Brussels, Belgium earlier this month.

Blake's time in a meet at Brussels was the second fastest 200 metres in history, just 0.07 seconds off Bolt's world record.

Bolt said he believes people are looking for controversy when they say Blake will be his toughest competition at the 2012 London Olympic Games.

Bolt, the double sprint world record holder, 2008 Olympic double sprint champion and the 2009 double sprint world champion, said no one in particular is his biggest rival and that he does not focus on any single competitor.

He was wisely diplomatic at Daegu. He can speak his mind now.

He is an idiot, he endorsed the one false start rule the first time it was passed and was quoted as saying it would not affect him as he never false starts..

So what? If he said in Deagu the rule is stupid - nothing could have come out of it. Other athletes did.
