  • Spencer...credited her improved hurdling to her fast times

Spencer, who now owns the three best times in the world so far this year, credited her improved hurdling to her fast times, while adding that former World Championships sprint hurdles champion Brigitte Foster-Hylton was helping her with her technique.

Is that the Duh (dumb?) statement of the week?

I think she probably, or the writer meant to say it the other way round?! i.e. credited "her fast times to improved hurdling (technique?)" would make a hell of a lot more sense...

I am thinking the writer misrepresented what she said as well.

Even if she answered it in a way that didn't sound right, he could have asked it again in another way to get something more meaningful.
