    ROSEAU, Dominica (CMC):

April 6, 2016 'I just want us to get better. I am tired of losing'

Dave Cameron smiles when reminded he has been WICB president for three years. "Three years and two days," he says. We are sitting in the lobby of a hotel in South Mumbai a day before West Indies' World T20 semi-final against India. The smog is heavy on the Arabian sea across the road at nine in the morning. Cameron arrives on the dot at the agreed time, wearing a T-shirt with the WICB insignia on the right bust, and jeans. Stern-faced to begin with, he opens up gradually.

Cameron has been painted as an autocrat, strong-willed and not given to bending to the wishes of others. In person, he comes across as strong-minded, forceful, a persuasive talker.

"It therefore is useless and pointless, unless it is for share malice and victimisation to arrest and charge a 92-year-old man for such a simple offence. There is nothing morally wrong with this man smoking a spliff; the only thing wrong is that it is still on the law books," said Chevannes.

West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) president Dave Cameron has said that both the board and players need to "compromise" and have discussions to resolve the longstanding feud that has existed between the two parties ever since he got elected in March 2013. Despite the deep distrust between the two parties, Cameron said that he shared a "good" relationship with players and has "gone out of his way" on several occasions to "reach out" to them.

The Indian tour boycott in October 2014, threat of pullouts over payment disputes ahead of numerous series and tournaments, differences among the board, selectors and the head coach are just some of the headlines that have persisted during Cameron's presidency which is into its second term after he was re-elected last March.

Exactly. Pulling out of the tour midway was unprecedented and in very poor taste and then bawl about 'victimization' ...... The players have never acknowledged that it was a bad idea in poor taste and unprofessional where in seeking more money they actually could have cost West Indies 40 odd million...

You tell me where in the private business you can cost your employer losses, cuss him and den bawl victimization if him don't offer you a new contract or rise or something like that.

It seems compete personal and less about the board than it is about for Cameron

WI Vice-Chairman underscores Board's inefficiency and stumbles! ...even as he mentions increases in remuneration at the domestic competition level.

He lists acts of The Board that led to impasse on World Cup remuneration and matters concerning same - i) size of initial offer; ii) timing of negotiations on same; iii) causes pause to wonder on/examine matters surrounding how an agreement was reached...

...and mis-management in the backroom as it relates to clothing of the World Cup team...

Then there is: actions taken (or lack thereof) to mitigate how those acts shall influence future Player-Board=Board-Player trust, cooperation...hell?...INTERACTION!

                              Congratulations to the Windies!
Great victory...particularly in the context of many of us not being all-in on expecting such!!!

                              CONGRATULATIONS, guys!!!!
