Jeez..Burrell can't win can he..I bet it would be taken differently if someone else made this statement. The fact is that or football needs a major facelift and I hope we can have some good perfomances in the first half of the year to get us back on track..I would recommend Burrell hold off on negotiations until we are in a better position..Any deal now might not be that beneficial..I'm sure, like the rest of Concacaf that sponsors are thinking that we might not make it past the first round...That defifnitely wouldn't be money well spent by then....and we do need the world cup journey and overseas games for sponsors to really feel like they're getting something out of this....
We need to get back to winning ways, play some big games outside of Concacaf and put ourselves back on the map
Sarry sar! I never said they were not good at what they do.

Maybe the Boyz can set a new football trend and play their next games including WCQ in plain kit with no markings and then when they improve they will be in a much better position to dictate to the kit manufacturers and not the other way around.
Knowing how the bakerman 'negotiates' I would not be surprised if he turned down a good deal because there was no personal benefits.

Adidas signed with Trinidad just before their play-off game with Bahrain. Trinidad had one foot in the world cup finals at the time, so It perhaps wouldnt be hard for them to get signed. I believe the value of the contcat they signed was worth something in the region US$14M
Even so, I do find it kind of hard to understand why a Puma etc wouldnt find aJamaica an attractive signing, regardless of the fact that our rankings are bad at the moment...somthing that can and will change over time. How difficult would it be for example to sign a contract that would increase in sponsorship dollars as the team climbs up the FIFA rankings? I suppose the Captian is looking for X amount of dollars from the get go.

Could that also be th ereason why Crenston didnt manage to negotiate a deal with a sponsor before he left office? The Uhlsport contract expired while Boxhill was in office, no?

OK, what value would you put on the reggaeboyz Sicko? Do you agree with me that based on our music, culture, and disapora, we are worth at least twice what T&T is worth? Adiads signed T&T to a $14M US per year contract...would you agree with me that based on the factors above, we might be worth up to 2 or even three times that?
Again, your boy would have accepted US$3M per year and be happy...when our real worth might well be 10 times that.

You dont have to have experience in that area Sickko, its a matter of common sense. And I believe we both will agree that the captain might just be more skilled than most on this forum in knowing the true worth of the Jamaica football product, and being able to negotiate based on what he knows our worth to be. Its a pity that we didnt even take part in the last gold cup, and had a good showing, because that would have given us more bargaining power. If I were the captain, I would hold off on signing a deal until the qualifiers get closer...but at the same time there is a need for cash now, so I can see why he is concerned about the matter.
