The JFF needs to do more in this area to help NPL clubs market themselves to potential sponsors and overseas clubs looking for talent.
If the NPL is to achieve its full potential, then this is one area that must be tapped into. It would cost the JFF less than US$10K to set up a portal that would allow each club in the league to have their own web site, complete with player bios, coaching staff, schedule, video clips, message boards etc. I am sure the market exists inside and outside of Jamaica that would also allow the league to profit from streaming of games live online. its not terribly hard to set up a TVU channel to broadcast the games. charge a fee of US$3 to view the "match of the round"...you potentially looking at a US$30K - US$100K in revenue from internet streaming alone for games involving top clubs. I am sure they would also be able to generate revenue from online banner ads etc. Scouts in Scandinavia etc would have a first hand view of the happenings in the league. The NPL probably have enough talent to ensure at least two US$500,000 transfer every year.

Burrell and company need to take this thing to the next level. Its not all about the national teams, they also need top do something tangible to assist the clubs maximise their full potential. The likes of Harbour View, Portmore etc are trying on their own, but it seems there is no real effort on their part to keep the sites up to date etc. The JFF currently has a media officer. Hire another individual and give her responsibility of keeping each and every site up to date with images, news etc. Get one of the sponsors to pay her salary.

Or perhaps this might be something for Seaga and HIS PLCA to look into.
