  • Marcos Senna Was The Top Player Not Xavi

I disagree with the UEFA people who named XAVI as the top player for Spain in the recent Euros. It was Marco Senna who kept the opponents attack to a minimum. It was Senna who held and made the good decisions every time. I hardly saw him make a bad pass in a game.

I like Xavi and Iniesta still so although Senna didn't get his due, I'm sure he knows he was the man.

There wasn't much difference between them, so could easily see how someone would favor either of the two. Xavi is the king when it comes to maintaining possession.

Matter, you could very well be right, although it was a close call between the two of them.

However, they (meaning FIFA and UEFA) almost always give this award to the more attacking players in these tournaments, rather than the more defensive-oriented ones.
"Donovan was excellent. We knew he was a good player, but he really didn't do anything wrong in the whole game and made it difficult for us."
