    Simoes said Tappa should take over

    He was on RJR sports just now and says he understand the business of coaching and the difficulty that Burrell had in firing him.

    He said that Tappa has the respect of all the players and administration and should be the one to take over

    key words..."respect of all the players"....it realy look like that is the reason why he got fired...normally you will hear players (at least one or two) come out in support of a departing coach...but not in this case....read between the lines

      Which player came out for any of the past fired coaches ? you need to stop insinuating hear -say . he got fired by an auto cratic Burell who needs to watch his step .

        boss man...Montesso got fired at the end of a failed campaign....Carl Brown wasn't fired he was pushed aside for a "more experienced coach", Bora carried the team inna Asia fi an @ss whipping...no coach was ever fired in the middle of a campaign where nuff of the players are in the middle of their last World Cup runs (Marshall, Ricketts, Goodison)...them man deh shoulda say something if the team was together unless them have the second coming of Passarella a come fi coach them...

            So ummmm has there been any player reactions to the firing ahead of a must win game to keep the small hopes of the campaign alive....weh the journalist dem deh

              SIGH...all the senior players save Ricketts went other places-like the US and England and Norway while the local based players came home...only one player gave an interview on TVJ- Evon Taylor and he was not in agreement with the timing of the firing.

              he said anyone from outside coming in wont have enough time to get to know the players and that is unacceptable...he did not use those exact words but that was the gist of what he was saying.

                So did Tappa get fired too? Any coach coming into the job will need a local man behind him. Like Simoes said, Tappa is the right man for that role.

                Simoes was never here for the long haul...he himslef said prior to the canada game that he would return to his native Brazil if the team failed to get to the Hex.
