NFF rake in N47.5m from Jamaica friendly

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) raked in a colossal sum of Euro 240,000 (about N47.5m) as appearance fees from the friendly game against the Reggae Boyz of Jamaica even as they expect to get more against the Republic of Ireland on May 29.

SoccerStar’s impeccable source disclosed that the company that organised the game paid the money to the NFF as a part of a bargain that will ensure that it also organises subsequent matches for the Super Eagles.

In addition to the appearance fees, players and officials feeding and accommodation were taken care of by the organisers.
The NFF, however, paid the allowances of the coaches and players from the money.

The organisers were hoping to recoup their money from gate takings, and advert bookings, but severe cold weather resulted into a poor turn out of spectators as only a handful of fans turned out for the encounter.
However, while the NFF smiled to the bank, the Jamaican FA got a paltry sum of Euro 100,000 as appearance fees.

The promoter is hoping to make more money from the Ireland friendly as more fans are expected to turn out for the encounter.

Wouldn't go that far as to call us beggars but we will recall we were called on after some one else dropped out of the game and most times in events like this it is the promoter who foots most of the big bills including airfare and hotel so the JFF who are badly in need of cash would have earned some money from this
