    Jamaica's national Under-20 footballers will depart the island today for Fort Lauderdale, Florida, where they will play two practice games against Canada and a Caribbean Americas Soccer Association (CASA) Under-23 team.

    The Young Reggae Boyz are putting final touches on preparations for the CONCACAF Under-20 World Cup-qualifying finals in Trinidad and Tobago starting on March 6.

    The games and training sessions will take place at Lauderhill Sports Complex in Lauderhill, Florida. The Young Boyz will play their first game on Wednesday, February 25, at 8:00 pm against the CASA Under-23 team.
    Their second game will be against Canada's Under-20 team at 7:30 pm on Friday, February 27.

    Jamaica have just concluded a three-game home series against Costa Rica and Mexico in which they had mixed results.
    They drew the first encounter against Costa Rica 0-0 before losing 0-1 in the return game. They then restored their confidence with a morale-boosting 1-0 win over regional kingpins Mexico.

    In the CONCACAF finals, Jamaica's are drawn in Group A with the United States of America, El Salvador and the winners of the play-off between Honduras and St Vincent and the Grenadines for the upcoming tournament.

    Group B consists of host Trinidad and Tobago, Mexico, Canada and Costa Rica.

    The top two teams from each group will advance to the semi-final round and will all book places to the FIFA Under-20 World Cup in Egypt 2009 which runs from September 25 to October 16, 2009.

    The team is coached by Donovan Duckie.
