Jamaica's Under-20 Boyz will bow into action tonight against a Caribbean Americas Soccer.

Association (CASA) Under-23 team, in a friendly match at the Lauderhill Sports Complex in Lauderhill, Florida, beginning at 8 p.m.

The team, which departed the island yesterday, will take part in two games as they continue their preparation for the CONCACAF Men's Under-20 Championships in Trinidad and Tobago, which kicks off on March 6.
Their second game will be against Canada's Under-20 team at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Canada will also be putting the finishing touches on their preparation for the tournament.

Rigorous preparation
The games will continue the rigorous preparation for the Boyz after hosting Costa Rica for two matches and Mexico for one. The team drew the first match against Costa Rica 0-0 and lost the second 1-0, but rallied with a 1-0 victory over the Mexicans.

National Under-20 coach, Donovan Duckie, in an interview with The Gleaner prior to the team's departure, stated that they were in good spirits and are upbeat about the upcoming tournament.

"The preparations went well. The team knows that these games are very important for their long- and short-term development," Duckie said.
Top striker Dever Orgill, who has scored several goals, is expecting the team to stay focused and win.

"We beat Mexico, which was a tough challenge, so for these two games we know that we can exercise what we have learnt in training," Orgill said.
"We know it's going to be tough but if we perform at a high level, as we have done before, then we will surely excel."

Group A
Jamaica's Under-20s are drawn in Group A alongside the United States, El Salvador and the winners of the play-off between Honduras and St Vincent for the upcoming tournament.

The four Group A teams will compete in a round-robin series at the Dwight Yorke Stadium in Tobago from March 6-15. The top two teams from the group will advance to the semi-final round, which will effectively seal their place in the FIFA Under-20 World Cup in Egypt, later this year, which be held from September 25 to October 16.
The four teams drawn to compete in Group B are Mexico, Costa Rica, Canada and hosts Trinidad and Tobago.
