ROBINHO was given a hero's welcome after being choppered into Santos.
The 26-year-old Brazilian has arrived at his former club for a six-month loan deal from Manchester City, with legend Pele leading the cheers.
He said: "Robinho's experience will be a key thing. A player like Robinho will be a great example for the younger players at Santos."
Speaking after arriving by helicopter at a packed Vila Belmiro stadium, Robinho said: "I'm very happy all of you are here.
"I have a great love for Santos. I'll try in every match to make you happy with a Santos victory."
Robinho joined City from Real Madrid in 2008 for a British-record fee of £32.5 million, becoming the first signing following Sheikh Mansour's takeover of the club.
But a lack of first team action saw the forward fear for his hopes of a World Cup starting place.
He added: "One of my objectives is to go to the World Cup and play well.
"Playing well at Santos will prepare me for the national team and having a good World Cup."
