but the south americans have demonstrated they deserve 4.5 places
plus Host , all 5 south american teams advance to R16 in WC .


We should be satisfy with the 3.5 places .

That's crazy. All 5 south american teams haven't advanced YET but the only way Chile is going to be knocked out is if Spain defeats Chile AND Switzerland defeats Honduras with:

1. Chile ceding 2 goals to nil and the Swiss winning 1-0 or...
2. Chile losing 1-0 and the Swiss winning 2-0 or....
3. Chile losing by one goal and the Swiss winning by one goal but scoring more goals than Chile overall in the group stage.

If anything South America have demonstrated that they probably deserve 5.5 spots on a permanent basis with Concacaf getting 2.5.
