RE: Luton signed for Two million Pounds
Two million pounds?
Would that be a record transfer fee for a Jamaican player?
"Donovan was excellent. We knew he was a good player, but he really didn't do anything wrong in the whole game and made it difficult for us."

<SPAN class=art-text>Jamaican striker Luton Shelton will join English Premier League club Sheffield United for an undisclosed sum, his Swedish first division club Helsingborg announced on Monday.
The 21-year-old Shelton scored nine goals in 19 first-division matches last season during which Helsingborg finished fourth in the league. In total, he has scored 17 goals in 28 competitive matches.
The Jamaican would join his new club on Tuesday or Wednesday, the local daily Helsingborgs Dagblad reported.
Shelton will be the third player from Helsingborg in recent months to enter the Premier League after Henrik Larsson joined Manchester United and Andreas Granqvist joined Wigan Athletic on loan deals.

OK, I mean a Jamaican player who is a product of Jamaican football (non UB40).
Although the above article states that Shelton was signed for "an undisclosed fee".

RE: Luton signed for Two million Pounds
The record for a home grown Ja baller is £3m. Sheffield U paid Preston NE a record transfer fee of £3m for Claude Davis last summer.
----------
Luton Shelton has joined Sheffield United in a £2million deal after the Premiership club released experienced striker Neil Shipperley.
Neil Warnock has been watching the Jamaica international in recent months and has now pushed through a deal.
The forward arrives at Bramall Lane from Swedish club Helsingborgs, who confirmed an agreement had been struck earlier on Monday.
Shelton has settled on personal terms with The Blades and has also undergone a medical at the club.
He could make his debut for Warnock's side in Saturday's game at Reading, providing international clearance is received in time.
Meanwhile, with Shelton checking in at Bramall Lane, Warnock has allowed Shipperley to move on.
The former Crystal Palace striker's contract has been cancelled by mutual consent after he failed to make an appearance for The Blades this season.
He is now eligible to find another club, and could also sign for a new team outside the transfer window due to his free transfer status.Winning means you're willing to go longer, work harder, and give more than anyone else - Vince Lombardi
