Well-positioned in the six-yard box, Streller turned in the box to beat goalkeeper Richard McCallum with a low shot after teammate Gokham Inler's cross was deflected the wrong way by Christopher Harvey's boot.
Five minutes later, the Swiss doubled their tally when Inler changed roles from provider to goalscorer - hitting a low right-footer from the edge of the 18-yard box after Tranquillo Barnetta's looping outswinging right-sided corner provided a host of problems for the Jamaican defence.
Once again, the Swiss team breached a fragile Boyz defence, when a pass out of midfield turned Treller loose on McCallum in goal, but the Waterhouse custodian raced from his line, knocking the VfB Stuttgart midfielder down in a 50-50 challenge.
And from the resulting free-kick, McCallum was back in action, denying Ludovic Magnin from the edge of the penalty spot with a fine diving save.
The Swiss raids continued unabated when Magnin had a clear run on goal, and with the goalie at his mercy, his unconvincing shot trickled wide.
Ranked No 17 in the world by FIFA, the Europeans took the Boyz (ranked 61) on a football education with their on- and off-the-ball movements.
And as the clocked ticked away in the first stanza of play, the Boyz continued to move off the beat - again allowing the dangerous Swiss attackers to take aim at their goal. Poor finishing by the Swiss played as a 12th man for the Boyz again in 39th minute when Borussia Dortmund's Alexander Frei could only offer a harmless shot that the busy MacCallum had little trouble handling.
Like a cat toying with its prey before devouring it, the Swiss taunted the Jamaicans - darting in and out of the team's goal area at will.
Just before the break, Swiss skipper Frei danced inside the box before rifling his 16-yard shot onto the crossbar, another welcome let-off for the Jamaicans.
On the resumption, Fabian Taylor gave the Boyz an air of hope when he broke down the left side of the pitch, but his one-time volley from the edge of the area swerved wide.
The next move of any promise came in the 71st minute and it was Harbour View's Taylor who tried once more, but his spec

I don't believe that is Andre Redwood tackling Kavin Bryan. Bryan is in the gold, green and black. I don't know Redwood, but he is listed as a sub for Jamaica so I don't think he would be wearing red.

Just a guess.

Not surprised. Glad the score line wasn't wider. That said, based on the observer's story (which at times need to be taken with a grain of salt) we were treated like school boys.

You have to take the Observer's reporters' words with a grain of salt yes. I have seen games which Fuller was playing the fool all night and they said he had a peach of a game. I had to say, what game were they watching.

One of the few reasons I was happy we hired a farin TD is to improve our Boyz' tactical approach to the game, by all accounts, our passing game was absent..., that is why I am disappointed that Bora has yet to impress....

The other day there was a news article with the heading "Sergeant testifies cops killed suspect in self defence". The heading should've been Sarge testifies he wasn't there...
