  • Sturridge goes down...

His trailing leg is knocked unto his lead leg and he goes down.

Exactly the type foul I practiced when I was a pretender at playing. Hit the opponents trailing leg unto to the standing leg (Hopefully also behind that standing leg to 'lick dun' the opponent and fool the ref who probably had never even kicked a ball or run fast in life...thus had not a clue that an opponent was just 'lick dun').

Sturridge gets a caution for being 'lick dun'!

He made a meal of it... he decided a split second too late that he was actually going down and put a bit of theatrics... but certainly NOT a yellow card, neither Carragher's

That is what the commentator said. Once that leg goes beind the other you must lose balance. You are going forward and the normal following step is prevented. ...and it matters not...*by Laws of the game it should matter not...if the fouled player stays on his feet or go down.

*Too many refs think on whether or not the crowd will approve before making the right call.

The way Sturridge is playing, he would be a serious asset for England (or Jamaica )
