Want to get in bed wid di enemy

Former Liverpool boss Benitez refuses to rule out spectacular move to Everton... and Carragher backs him for Goodison job

Rafa Benitez has left the door open for what would be a sensational move for Everton.
Benitez, who managed Liverpool between 2004 and 2010, will find himself out of work again in the summer, leaving Chelsea after serving his time as interim boss.

Cup of joy: Benitez celebrates after winning the Europa League in Amsterdam

And asked whether he could conceivably see a future at Goodison Park, Benitez told talkSPORT: 'I have a lot of respect for Everton. They have done a great job in the last year, and you have to give credit to them. But, still I think it would be quite difficult for them to approach me and maybe even for me to go there.'
Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher has admitted Benitez would go down well with the blue half of Merseyside. When asked whether he could join Everton, Carragher told talkSPORT: 'Why not? They’re looking for a manager and he’s looking for a job. He wants to stay in the Premier League and he’s stated that a few times, that is his priority.
'It might ruffle a few feathers, with the Liverpool and Everton side of it. I don’t know how difficult that sort of thing is. I don’t think it’s happened before with managers. I know it happened between Tottenham and Arsenal with George Graham and I think eventually it was a problem for him.

Back in the day: Benitez and Carragher during training in 2007

'Everton would love to get someone with his CV, but with the Liverpool situation it makes it difficult. If all parties come together and they are willing to give it a go then I’m sure he would do a good job.'

Wherever he finishes up Benitez, who led Chelsea to Europa League glory this week, admitted he would like to carry on managing in England.
'I just have to wait for offers,' he added. 'I have my job, my agent has his job and it’s time now to relax at the end of the season and see what happens. But I expect offers to come in and we need to find the right club and the right offer.

Replacement? Benitez and departing Everton boss David Moyes

'England is my priority because my family is here, but there are not too many top sides so there could be two different options. It could be a project where you could build something for the future or it could be a top side where you could compete straight away for trophies, so we will see.'
One thing is certain, Benitez will find himself up against Everton in his final game for Chelsea this weekend.

Nothing desperate about that. There is a vacancy there and he would be going to the better club in that region.

Wherever Rafa goes, X will follow. I'm glad he isn't the new MU manager because X's trail as a loser is there for all to see. MAn City was leading the league till X went on board. Chelsea was surging, then X left City for Chelsea.
