Action from the quarter-final match at the Stadio Olimpico (@Getty Images)
Roma and United made to pay

    Wednesday, 25 April 2007
AS Roma and Manchester United FC have both been fined for incidents at the UEFA Champions League quarter-final first leg in the Italian capital on 4 April.
    Crowd disturbances
The UEFA Control & Disciplinary Body have today taken action after fans of both clubs lit fireworks and threw missiles during the game at the Stadio Olimpico, as well as being involved in general crowd disturbances. Roma, who won the game 2-1 before a 7-1 defeat in the Manchester return, have been fined CHF75,000 (€47,700) while United will have to pay CHF35,000 (€21,300). Both clubs have three days in which to appeal after receipt of the written grounds for the decision.
