    There are other explanations why this could be a yellow...but it was simply a bad call.

    Campbell is still among the best refs in CONCACAF IMO.

      Zeppo have a thing against Jamaican refs. I hope he didn't lose anything valuable to a Jamaican man in Black. LOL.

If you think it was a red card, tell me then how you get to the position of such "CLARITY".

            A key point here by the way is that the shot had already been taken; if the ball had been handled by anyone but the goalie, would you have called for a red card? I don't think so.

              I think it was the Gold Cup after Jamaica went the World Cup--that the Jamaican GK was red-carded for a similar offense. I think it was at the Orange Bowl.

              The football Historians on the site should remember this incident.

                No HL is saying that it was a Red Card offense in some other game why Zeppo carrying feelings for "Jamaican ref".

                    No sir. I think it was a red-card in last night's game.

                    I can understand the point that that Marin is postulating regarding being deemed a yellow card offense. For that reason I am not going to enter into a debate.

                        So what you are saying is that you can't adequately explain why it was a clear goal scoring opportunity...right? Didn't think so. Cho. Why are we all so fast to tear down our own? Campbell did a great job...at least so I postulate. (That is a BIG word, but me like it )

                            I posted (i think it's the last thread) that i consider Campbell one of the best ref in CONCACAF:

                            It does not mean he cannot make a mistake.

                            Do you recall the Jamaican keeper getting red-carded in a Gold Cup game in Florida--in the very early 2000's? It was for a similar play.

                                Karl,

                                Note true that the goalie was the last defender when the infraction occurred. He was, on the initial head out which went to the opponent, but a defender kept his run and WAS behind the goalie when he handled the ball... AND as Paul pointed out the ball was shot straight into the man's chest.

                                See it here: Go to minute 54 +. The overhead shot on the replay shows the defender CLEARLY behind the keeper.
