I disagree re Harry. Harry motivates to a point but Harry's inadequacy showed when he bungled a great Spurs team. Harry doesn't know how to manage the real difficult personalities and real difficult and stressful situations and expectations. At Spurs, when it got tough, Harry fell off the cliff.
Mourinho would have done well but he would have revamped the team immediately. He had and has the currency to attract the big name, capble players to Man U. Moyes does not have that currency. After this start, any top player who was even slightly considering Man U in the future is now totally changed. Others who are undeserving will be salivating because they are hoping that Man U will be desperate enough now to throw big money at the half baked.

Great question!! Hear me now. The responsibility lies with the Glazers. I think their management skills for this type of business are inadequate. Billionaires are not necessarily successful in every endeavor and they don't have the skills to survive outside of their area of strength. They survive in the NFL because the NFL's operating scheme allows an unsuccessful team on the field to be successful financially, especially if they stay within the salary cap.
European football is different. The fans argued this clearly before the Glazers were allowed to purchase Man U. The fans foresaw this and argued that the Glazers would over-mortgage Man U. The Glazers promised they would not but they have. There were constant rumors for years that Fergie argued with the Glazers for years but agreed with them in public to show a unified face.
The Fergie factor in this is that he selected Moyes, who is clearly out of his league. Was he afraid of a enw sharp manager sharing the spotlight with his accomplishments? Was he trying to help a bredring from the Scot football mafia? It is quite unlike Fergie's going to Man U in the 80's. Football is at a totally different level now. Real-time business deals, instant global profits or failures. Huge battles for market share. Huge tv rights. So front office, ownership, coaching, game day inspiration are all important and are areas where Man U has failed.
Final word, last season, I spoke of how weak the defense was. Folks like my own team mate Lazie argued how great Rio was. I was stunned. In close quarters, with lots of help he is ok. In open field he and all of Man U defense are mediocre. Fergie was able to squeeze some more juice out of the orange and it tasted sweet. But the juice is done. Rebuilding is past being needed.

That baffle me tuh! Nothin that mouse has done suggests that he could handle the job! Harry Redknapp would have been a better choice

Fergie didn't get everything right. I still hold the view he got it wrong with Moyes.Originally posted by Paul Marin View PostGood question Peter...but you should know better than to put SAF name in there. Slurgie could rape, plunder, pillage, loot, rob, bribe (we know him good at this), murder etc. etc. and them would NEVER call him out, even though he is the one that HAND PICKED Moyes. Talk about...cho...why the 'ell should I bother? I'm happy with manu** getting relegated!

SAF used these same players to win the league by 11 points. It is clear Moyes does not motivate the players.Originally posted by Peter R View PostWho should take the blame for the state of the club as you have described it? SAF? or DM? or the owners? I'd like to hear your take on this.

Felaini really looked out of place in the set up today. To use one of Karl's anologies when he described Darren Moore, the former UB40 Reggae Boyz defender. Felaini is like the Titanic. He drops anchor, but it could be a couple hours before he will finally come to rest or can turn.Felaini is big and slow, very one dimensional, if that, with little skill. He aint at the level of midfielders at the top teams. He aint no play maker. How could anyone celebrate his signing?
Coaches have to be able to pick talent that can fit into their plans. Felaini may have been a good player for Moyes at Everton, but he looks out of sorts at ManUre. Moreover, you guys paid £28 million for him!

I told you guys from before the season started that this is not 20 years ago. It was pretty obvious we had been overachieving for the last few years. You guys were overly optimistic.
Moyes is out of his league. He used to having a top 10 side. We are used to a top 3 side finishing Champs League after Christmas except on the rare occasion.
The Glazers have a huge role here. I repeatedly told you guys that they treat Man U like the Tampa Bay Buccaneers that they own. Buc fans are accustomed to mediocrity as the Bucs are guaranteed a profitable season from TV rights, merchandising and NFL profit sharing.
In this modern era, we expect Man U to run a better organization, before game day and on game day; on the field, in the front office, scouting, etc.
For a team that intends to play in Champs League next year and that wants to play beyond Christmas this year, they must sound the alarm. The owners, the front office, Manger, coaching staff and players all need to make a public statement and come out blazing. The front office needs to planning a major overhaul.
The defense is shot all the way around. Ferdi has been done for years and you guys talk fart about how good he is. Vidic is way past his prime. Wing backs are garbage.
Best midfielder is Rooney. Van P may be good for a top 6 prem team but he aint winning in Europe. Rooney can play top or mid but he is easily frustrated. Keeper is ok.
