This is not good. Panama at 38, even without a WC qualification.

It was not the player aggregation why we failed!!!!

It was all about preparation! ...or correctly lack thereof!!!!

[B]Aside: This constant silly harping on the players allows...scratch that encourages the entrenchment of the inept JFF leadership.

It is nonsense parochial division among our children - (deliberate use as the action of blaming our collection of players...strangers to each other as they have no previous period of playing together...who are not responsible for our failures through many, many, many...years show our juvenile attempts at logic - more akin to that given by poor 1st or 2nd form high school intake)
                - that has the JFF leadership forming the ass over so many years. It is the leadership of the JFF that needs shaking up. It is the JFF leadership that is stifling our growth - player development, development of our coaches, national TEAMs growth and our fledging football industry's growth.

Fix our leadership problems and off we go!!! ..towards the TOP OF THE WORLD!

Same set of players in well led good REGGAE BOYZ development program and our FIFA Ranking would be in the TOP 30!!!

The problem with your thesis here is that Snow Ballas CANNOT or WILL NOT participate in any meaningful "development program"... their club commitments or personal interests invariably trump Jamaica's...except when the RBZ are in the final stages of qualifying

You should now understand that attempting a "development program" with a flood of new players in the latter stages of WCQ is idiotic

I fail to understand how persons don't understand this by now

I do not know who is a "snow balla". I have seen the term used...but it appears to mean different things to different persons.

What I do know is, we need 8 year of continuous preparation to realistically hope to mold a TOP 30 (as per FIFA Rankings) national senior team=REGGAE BOYZ TEAM.

With even "moderate" quality players a TOP 30 TEAM can be created. USA has shown us that. The Mexicans have been showing us that for more than 5 World Cup cycles.

We need players who 'know the game', are fast, good technical quality in a program that is ongoing for at least 8 years...and which shall continue onwards thereafter.

It matters not where the players are playing their football. All that is needed is commitment by all the parties - JFF and Players. End of story.

It is nonsense to claim all Jamaica players of good quality who play outside of the island would not supply the necessary commitment.

You should now understand that attempting a "development program" with a flood of new players in the latter stages of WCQ is idiotic

I fail to understand how persons don't understand this by now
It is idiotic to even think any person who has a rudimentary understanding of the game would consider inserting a "flood of players" in any TEAM.

Any type of ongoing TEAM program (=any program run by sensible person or persons) demands careful and incremental additions and subtractions of players at the start of a season and during a season. Introducing 3 or more players to a team is fraught with great danger as the very nature of TEAM play aims at having the on-the-field unit acting as if controlled by one wise mind. That is variously referred to as having 'understanding'...'team chemistry'...'all for one and one for all'...'willing to die for TEAM' attitude and mentality.

It is an ass having an ongoing program...who would be introducing 'a flood of players' into his TEAM.

Sure our case is a special one where initially a squad has to be put together - with consideration on: What are the goals? ...age of quality *AVAILABLE players? ...in the context of, a) Not having a program ...and thus... b) For the first time at last putting a program in place.

...so once the work has been done on i) policy...and... ii) funding secured...then it is on to identifying and finding *AVAILABLE players with necessary quality and the beginning of the process of molding them into A TOP QUALITY TEAM.

NB: *AVAILABLE quality players points to a series of standards that have to be met, inclusive of COMMITMENT TO THE REGGAE BOYZ.

What would be the point of selecting players who are not AVAILABLE to make the program work.

All this 'beating up of the gum' about leaving out or ignoring 'x' or 'y' group who are resident or ply trade outside of the island is mere unthinking red herring...

                          ...or...

...a latching on to the seen 'silly fumbling about' of the JFF leaders as being something to be considered as a possible path. The JFF has been acting in a stupid manner since 1998 no sensible discussion on preparation of national TEAMs can include going down the JFF's failed path.

Clearly the JFF's fumbles since 1998 can only be used as pointer on, "what not to do!"

In this age of an ever 'shrinking world' and examples of top football nations it is counter-productive to leave out qualified available player or players merely on the basis of where they reside or ply their trade. ...fact is, going down such a path - If I may beat Don1's term to death - would be idiotic!!!

Karl....if your above tome can be distilled to mean
-- a Jamaican team cannot be properly created and developed if it is dependent on droves of players who are unavailable consistently but must focus on those who are consistently available i.e. for years and not mere weeks---
                            I agree.

If it doesn't meant that then I don't
