  • HL................Now that the MLS has purchased

Chivas USA (about time), who do you think will buy this franchise from MLS & do you think they should move from LA??

***There are about 3 European clubs that's been showing some real interest, in MLS, for at least 2 years, but there are Americans who want to get into the league.

***I think whoever gets the Chivas franchise should move them......maybe San Diego would be a good fit.

The person who buys Chivas MUST understand the BRANDING. And absolutely, the club MUST be placed in a high population Mexican market.

To be called Chivas, it has to maintain some elements of the Mexican club; NOT the debacle that they recently went through.

The MLS realize that they are running out of Franchises to start up soon. They will sell it to some owner and move it to a more viable town.

Chivas never really got of the ground, on or off the field in LA.

Understand the Chivas branding, but it did not get off the ground in LA. They need an owner who is committed long term, and yes they should consider another market & a new team name.

Don't see them keeping the name as many Mexicans didn't identify with Chivas as they saw them as an extension of Chivas Guadalajara & were not a fan.

If they keep them in LA there's some talk that they might bring back the Los Angeles Aztecs name (from the old USFL).

You got a point there USAF (and Hortical) ...as far and the name is concerned.

Mexicans naturally gravitate to the sport of football anyway.

I recall during the early MLS days (living in NY/NJ) and going to watch the MetroStars; most of the spectators were of hispanic origin.

Keep them in la. Get a quality owner. Rename them the LA Aztecs. My two cents.
