Darmstadt has clinched third place in the German Liga 3. Last season, Daniel Gordon and Karlsruhe won the Liga 3 championship.

Darmstadt is coached by Dirk Schuster, who was a center back on the 1993-94
Karlsruhe team coached by Winnie Schaefer that reached the semifinals of the Europa League.

Darmstadt will play the 16th place team in Bundesliga 2 in a promotion playoff
May 16 and 19. With two weeks remaining, Dynamo Dresden currently holds
the 16th spot, but three other teams have a mathematical chance of rising or falling to 16th. Dynamo Dresden won last year's relegation playoff to keep its place in Bundesliga 2.

Heidenheim and RB Lepzig are tied for first place, but both will be automatically promoted to Bundesliga 2.

Great! That means Karlsruhe will be promoted to Liga 2 next season. Good for Gordon and the Reggae Boyz.

      Tilla,

Karlsruhe is already in Bundesliga 2. They were promoted after after winning the Liga 3 championship.

Karlsruhe is in fifth place in Bundesliga 2 with two weeks remaining. They are five points out of third place and the promotion playoff. (Improbable but not impossible).

Daniel has appeared in 28 of 32 games plus one German Cup match, all starts. He missed one game, suspended for yellow card accumulation.

He has played all 90 minutes in those games, has one goal, two assists, five yellow cards and no red.

Just a quick update: After a 2-2 draw against Fortuna Dusseldorf, Karlsruhe is guaranteed to finish fifth in Bundesliga 2. With one round remaining, Karlsruhe has 50 points on 12 wins, 14 draws, and 7 losses.

By comparison, Arminia Bielefeld, who finished second to Karlsruhe in the third division last year, is facing relegation, tied with Dynamo Dresden in 16th place with 32 points.
A-B trails Dynamo Dresden by -3 on goal difference. A-B's only hope of escaping relegation is to pass Dynamo Dresden for the magical 16th place, then win the relegation playoff.
