  • UEFA won't support Blatter re-election

SAO PAULO -- The chairmen of the football associations of England and the Netherlands have urged Sepp Blatter not to stand for re-election as FIFA president.

FA chairman Greg Dyke and KNVB chief Michael van Praag, who were attending a meeting of the national associations of UEFA in Sao Paulo which Blatter attended, suggested that the Swiss executive should reverse his decision to stand for a fifth term in office.

Van Praag claimed that "people link FIFA to corruption and bribery and all kinds of old boy's network" and said a change was necessary in order to change this perception, adding to Dutch newspaper Volkskrant: "The image of FIFA has been tarnished by everything that has happened over the last years.

"There are very few people who still take FIFA seriously and whatever way you want to cut and dice it, Blatter is responsible in the end."

Sepp better come spend some of FIFA money down a Jamaica and buy some Caribbean votes. If it wasn't for him we wouldn't have gotten that half spot and the continent of Africa would still have about 3 countries representing it. Deals we have to make with the devil.

once the sponsors throw him under the bus, he is fair game. no way he'll run again, but its' all about the sponsors.

I thought the last time he ran, he could not afford not to. The skeletons are in the numbers and the records of those numbers. ...and those after Jack could now not care a fig if Blatter and Blazer goes down in flames.

In other words, his remaining in office prevents investigations. Leave or is thrown out and his fate is in the hands of others. I just have the feeling the knives are being sharpened.

That may be his only hope! ...and that may benefit both parties...but does Webb play the piper of Blatter's tune if that comes to pass...or would it mean Blatter becomes Webb's puppet???

This is all about politricks. Webb is sitting on 41 votes compared to UEFA's 54. He should use that leverage to get meaningful support from Sepp and his cronies. Jack took FIFA's money and build several stadia in Trinidad whilst the rest of the region got crumbs. A larger country like Jamaica should be getting the lion share of FIFA's money to the Caribbean because of her size and her ability to make an impact in representing CONCACAF and the Caribbean.

Hey, with Sepp and his crew of con artists, Europe would have about 20 spots out of 32 playing in the WC. They currently have 13 the largest of all the confeds.
