LONDON — When the president calls from the Oval Office, you have to assume that the United States has come of age as a soccer nation.

For all its never-say-die spirit, Team U.S.A. was eliminated by Belgium at the World Cup. Michael Bradley ran a marathon in midfield and Tim Howard was heroic in goal for a reason — the Americans were being pounded by the Belgians, who forced the keeper to make 16 saves.

But beyond the euphoria, the new reality is the old reality: This World Cup is going the way of every World Cup since the tournament started in 1930. It is coming down to South America vs. Europe, with only “little” Costa Rica showing the class and the defiance of an upstart outsider

THERE IS ONLY ONE ONANDI LOWE!

"Good things come out of the garrisons" after his daughter won the 100m Gold For Jamaica.

"It therefore is useless and pointless, unless it is for share malice and victimisation to arrest and charge a 92-year-old man for such a simple offence. There is nothing morally wrong with this man smoking a spliff; the only thing wrong is that it is still on the law books," said Chevannes.

Tired of this! Time for some new team to win. And by new I don't mean Holland. We need a Colombia, a Costa Rica, even a Belgium to win! Cho man!

      Belgium may oblige!
They are greater opposition than many think.

They were strong...fast...relentless on attack and had to defend in a resolute manner when called on!

Aside: Many recall Tim Howard's valiant display and simply forgot that the USA tested that Belgium TEAM contesting just about every ball...and went deep...very, very deep into the Belgian penalty-area on occasions with both good tactical attacks and a few technically superb ones. [Oooh yes, watched that Belgium v USA match again. ...and that inventive set piece 'a time or two' again. ]

That Belgian 17 year old attacker is a handful. He shall make some of those defenders who shall meet him later...'tear their hair out'!!! ...and the Belgian supporting cast is nothing to sneeze at!!! ...just think on the X1 who were on the field against the USA???

...and the defensive record? 4 matches 2 goals against?
Now which other TEAM still in the competition has as good a defensive record?
