There was good news for our MLS sister club on Thursday afternoon as Frank Lampard was unveiled as NYCFC’s latest signing.
The England international joins David Villa, Josh Saunders and Jeb Brovsky to become New York City FC’s fourth signing ahead of their 2015 kick-off.
Lampard, Chelsea’s all-time record goalscorer, will play for Jason Kreis’s side when their season gets under way in Spring.
He will wear the no.8 shirt.
“I am really excited about joining New York City and helping to build something special in what is one of the sporting capitals of the world,” declared the durable fan favourite.
“I am flattered to think I will be part of history being made in the Five Boroughs and I am looking forward to getting to know New Yorkers and tapping into their vibrancy and passion for the game. I just cant wait to get started.
