    Tuesday, August 26, 2014 | 7:51 AM

KINGSTON, Jamaica -- Jamaica came from two goals down to defeat Cayman Islands 5-3 and maintained top spot in Group One of the Under 17 Caribbean Football Union World Cup Qualifier at the Anthony Spaulding Sports Complex in Kingston Monday night.

Jamaica were joined atop of the group on six points by Guadeloupe which blanked US Virgin Island 5-0 in the curtain raiser.

    - 2nd formers gave us a run for our money!

    - Guadeloupe should be the 3rd formers here. Will they prove we are not yet up to that 3rd form standard on Wednesday - tomorrow 26 August 2014?

Color only spent a two weeks at most with the team since he was away in Germany. Good luck to him and his team.

                Selection?
                Yes...but more so coaching/teaching!

...cannot blame Colour as a TEAM is not made in a few hours (and few hours is actual preparation period)!!!!

Most blame must be...as it is with academics...the teachers who had the pupils at the earliest of stages and certainly before they arrive at immediate pre-exam stage. The earlier lessons are where the base knowledge and habits are laid!At the immediate pre-exam stage it is all about fine-tuning and bringing up to speed. Colour needs those students with 'proper base knowledge and ability' on whom he can then apply final fine-tuning.

As the nations around us raise standards we must improve our teaching=coaching at earliest of ages through to succeeding tournaments.

As it was in the beginning - Nonsense JFF policy/policies!!!
Introduce quality players from out of the island? YES! ...but also...in lock step...improve the local quality of players and TEAMs. Needed good teachers=coaches and administrators with wonderful vision!!!
