Karl do you think me and the Arsenal fans are interested in players who go on the field stand up and expect things to be served on a plate? We want to see people putting in the effort on the field and doing their fair share. You won't win many football matches if only some players are willing to work hard for the team. That is the main reason why he does not start many games or he always get hooked. Good finisher but that is all he is. I would rather someone who is less lethal but is more of a team player.

The question is, why hasn't Podolski been given a fair run out by the manager? In all his early matches Podolski was a work-horse. When he plays for Germany he is a work-horse.

My opinion is that Wenger has broken his spirit. Podolski knows he shall not have a FULL game and he knows he is not being allowed to achieve full match readiness. He may be fit but all players need to have that confidence that comes from frequent playing...that confidence is instilled in the subconscious. There is a 'oneness' with 'feel for the game'.

Spectators know players have to gel with TEAM-mates to be allowed display of full abilities. Even part-time players know there is a feeling of 'not being quite there' when they get on the field. Yet Podolski is always an afterthought

Managers and the pundits speak of the need to settle in. Yet, GUNNERS only pure striker is never allowed to settle in. Wenger knows that part of the game from personal experience. He was a player. He has watched his signings take time to settle in and seen how after lay-off they return needing time to settle in again. He has the experience of observing the improved performances put in by a player who plays regularly on comparison with that player's performance when in and out of the TEAM. He knows Podolski's worth. He studies the game intensely and tracks the stats religiously yet even as puts Podolski in the worse possible position to perform...under those less than ideal situations Podolski's 'numbers' are outstanding

Why is Wenger not giving this productive player and even for his beefing up of our GUNNERS...his only pure striker a chance to give his best
