    OK!

...however we have shown that we produce poor passers play poor team ball so we need to figure a way to change that in our game and one great way to start changing the culture is to start tracking the assist, which will create natural competition in that category and will thus overemphasize the importance of the player making the final pass that leads to a goal.
Agreed that it is silly to not keep a record of such stats!
...however, we also need to encourage TEAM=TEAMplay!!!!

    Why?

If each player was focused on sharing the ball with better placed...best placed TEAMmate then there would be more attempts at passing (and movement)...and it just may bring about the opposite effect to "too few passes attempted...extremely limited practice at passing...and to no surprise "poor passing"!!!!

Look at that list of players, there are no central attacking players there not one or not one that could be said to be productive at a professional league league level.
Yup! ... not one that could be said to be productive at a professional league league level Yup! ...it is always...it is just very difficult to perform a skill that was neither taught nor practiced!!!! (emoticon showing throwing of hands in the air=sign of dispair!!!)

    25. MF Marvin Elliott (age 30) Bristol

Not one of these players have had a history of more than ten assists in any season playing out of the central midfielder role, how is that possible, it comes from a lack of even recognizing that passing is the most important part of the game and scoring is mostly always a part or end product of passing, yet we continue to not even recognize or record assists in the local game, consequently we cannot produce any players who actually can pass the ball and create out of midfield. I have gone through all these players and the ones we recognize as the best are either goal scorer like Dawkins, a bunch of wingers like jj, mccleary, mcanuff, humphreys, Richards or they are defensive mids like Austin, Taylor or Elliott.

Now everybody is asking where is our attacking, central midfielder.
It is football Stoni! ...a TEAM game!
All players must be able to pass and move...move and pass...attack..defend!!!
    No free loaders!

All players must be able to create for self and for TEAM (...thus naturally TEAMmates)! ...a just suh di game guh!

When you have a 'TEAM' in which there are no creators (of goalscoring opportunities) you have no TEAM! karrek-shan - You have no footballers!!!

Yeah is a fact the field dem Stoni!,,
But to use that excuse perpetually as the reason why we can't progress and develop some real ballers I just can't buy, something about the combination of ball culture and selection of ballers makes us produce slow mids, fast attackers and kickitout defenders.

    Agreed!
...that playing on poor surfaces hinders pace of development...but cannot even remotely be compared to what teaching does for/to 'pace of development'.

The huge problem schoolboy and schoolgirl football has is, poor quality of teaching! What you see on the field is a result of the teaching!!! End of Story!!!

You know what, time to stop these ridiculous excuses and get a few stone rakes and start the process of pulling off every tiny stone off the field, three or four rakes over the field will be an excellent improvement.

Too much blouse and skirt excuses time to start bend down pick up take out a shovel and pick axe and start take out bump etc etc.

i have explained it to you a million times before...schoolboy football is for recreation...the best need to be isolated and play only against the best...you cannot achieve that in a schoolboy football system...
