Peter - that game was lost in the 1st half when we didn't take our chances. Sturridge and Sterling BOTH had opportunities to get us on the board with a SIMPLE tap of a pass to the open man. That was not Rodgers fault...the lesser football minds don't understand that leaving so many first team players behind showed anyone with a brain that our priorities are well placed - with the league. That is where he will keep/lose his job. Not based on cups. Still, very frustrating display. I actually only saw the second half and extra time... and in what I saw there were too many occasions where (insert any name here) gave the ball away much too easily. That I can't put on BR's shoulders... just bad execution.
The loss may be a blessing in disguise as you say; the FA Cup has only a few more games if LFC advances.Peter R

Besiktas did some softening up for you, especially since they took the match 120 minutes. That, coupled with barely 24 hours rest and "jet lag" (it's over four hours flight from Istanbul to Liverpool) will have some effect... BUT I fully expect LFC to send you guys back to ManSitty with your tails between your legs!
