Bonehead, you look at one piece of the puzzle and think that's the whole picture. When is the last time Real Madrid let go of a *major* star at the height of their career? In some ways, winning the Champions League could be a curse as they will continue their penny-pinching ways not realizing that in the modern era - squad value AND wage bill are what they have to maintain with the perennial contenders. We better NOT hear any noise about contract negotiations with Salah, Mané, or any of our top players. So while Klopp may work his magic and bring up players of lesser value, it is a very risky strategy. You only have to look at Arsenal to see how it can go sideways. If the owners can KEEP the team together, and DO NOT SELL OUR STARS, then we have a chance at the league title if Klopp goes into the market and BUYS PROVEN talent to give us DEPTH so we can challenge on all fronts and not DASH WEY 2-0 leads to the likes of West Brom. It is then that my side will have a chance to *consistently* challenge for the title - and that doesn't mean 16 points off the top. We only have to look at your side (City, not Newcastle, Chelsea, Real Madrid, Napoli or the many others you call "we") to see what fruits capital investment in the right players can bear. It's not that hard to understand, but then again, is you me ah talk to...and just in case you fly off into your little tangential realms, it is ABOUT THE LEAGUE. Cups are lotteries. Again,what do you qualify as consistently in case you dont know La liga isnt the prem and todays prem isnt the prem of 10 years ago,so forget about 20.

For the 1000th time, the new paradigm you speak of is not your asinine 'more with less' stupidity...That has produced zero clubs challenging consistently for the title year over year. If you want a paradigm, it's the oligarch paradigm where you do more with more than everybody else. And top 4 does not mean consistently challenging.
