Montreal Impact getting an experienced PL midfielder (Victor Wanyama): https://www.tottenhamhotspur.com/new...impact-agreed/

it increased in value to $700 mil because investors recently paid $70 million for a 10% stake...if SUM is valued at $2 billion and there are 26 MLS teams...each teams stake in SUM alone is $75 million...makes good business sense to me...

I know about SUM. I had posted some info on it, a few years ago - The MLS Commissioner, Don Garber, was the major architect of SUM, which was to 1. save MLS from failure (MLS was to cease operation at the end of the 2001 season) and 2. purchase 2002 WC English broadcast rights, for the U.S., since no U.S. broadcast network was interested in doing so. Kraft (NE Revolution), Hunt (FC Dallas) & Anschutz (LA Galaxy) gave him the "seed money".
Even with SUM, it's surprising that a MLS team's valuation can increase by $225M, in 3 months, because there are more hands in the SUM pot, with continued expansion, even when you factor in expansion fees.

Maybe different measures use to measure it or soccer the value skyrocket as the demand for soccer franchises go up.
