Mexico beat Panama 1-0 in Puebla Mexico in a game marred by torrential rain, a deluge of fouls, and a flood of yellow cards.
Because of a flooded pitch, Hugo Sanchez, Mexican team manager, and his Panamanian counterpart Aleandre Guimares agreed to end the game at halftime.
Mexico's score came on an own goal in the 33rd minute by Panama's Felipe Baloy. A corner kick bounced across the goal mouth, off Baloy, and into
the net.
Sanchez said he was using the game as preparation for Olympic qualifying.
