  • I would love to see this starting lineup ...

    ..today against Everton.
de Gea Dalot, Varane, Martinez, Malacia
    Anthony, Casemiro, McTominay, Sancho
    Rashford,Martial.

Two defensive midfielders or McTominay assuming the duties if an offensive one.
In any event, it is going to be a very physical game.

So glad that you’re not our coach.
Hey .. look at the bright side .... at least you're not a Liverpool fan! - Lazie 2/24/10 Paul Marin -19 is one thing, 20 is a whole other matter. It gets even worse if they win the UCL. *groan*. 05/18/2011.MU fans naah cough, but all a unuh a vomit?-Lazie 1/11/2015

Why is McTominay always the one to get substituted or left out of the starting eleven?
ARe you saying McTominay is lacking the requisite skills of an offensive midfielder?
He has played that position before, and it can't be about athleticism of passing abilities.
Bruno is preventing Rashford and Martial being partnered as strikers, and Erikson should not be our only offensive midfielder.
There are benefits to fielding McTominay, his height and knack for tackling are two of several reasons.
Or is it that you have no problem with our attacks being thwarted by wayward passes by Erikson and Bruno?
Every position has to be competitive, Jangle.
Why an acclaimed coach, Mourinho, failed to identify the talents of de Bruyne?

Many questions to answer. McTominay has started in all of our EPL matches except the last one. His substitutions are for tactical reasons especially when he’s sitting on a yellow card. As a matter of fact, I think he may miss the next match from his accumulation of yellow cards. McTominay does not have the requisite skills to lead our midfield. He is a workhorse and not a thoroughbred.

“Bruno is preventing Rashford and Martial being partnered as strikers, and Erikson should not be our only offensive midfielder.“

I don't understand that statement. When Martial is fit, he plays. Bruno doesn't play either of their positions. Erickson is not our only offensive midfielder. Bruno plays that role also and was very successful before Ronaldo came.

You're one of those fans who easily blames coaches when you have the benefit of hindsight. Mourinho didn't "fail to identify" Kevin De Bruyne. Chelsea was tthe defending Champions league winner at the time when De Bruyne was a sapling, and the team had Eden Hazard, oscar and Victor moses who were well ahead of him at the time. Plus it was at a time when Abromovich was actively buying players for his collection. Chelsea had around 40 players out on loan, including Lukaku.

If Bruno is a midfielder why play Erikson?
Fact is we are not fielding a lone striker, with Sancho and Anthony on the flanks, Bruno is the trailing striker.
            Whi sits so Martial starts?

Boss this was the starting team Sunday. Sancho had a poor game against City so he was dropped. It is proven that Rashford plays better coming off the wing, therefore he got Sancho's game. Martial did well as a striker during the summer but injuries have kept him out. He came on as a substitute against City and scored two goals. The coach had already stated that Martial would have been his main striker this season if it had not been for his injuries.
