Whenever I think of the DR, baseball first comes to mind. Even above football is volleyball and basketball!

It's the same for Panama, football is not their major sport.

Yeah!!! DR is known for baseball (that's king), boxing, basketball & volleyball. Their new push in soccer might be an effort to qualify for the 2026 & 2030 World Cup, with CONCACAF getting 6 spots. I also saw a post, last week, that Suriname is now recruiting about 8 Euro-based players (presently playing in Eredivise, Ligue 1, Belgian Pro League & EFL Championship).......There's going to be a big fight for the remaining 3 spot, for 2026. With the talent Jamaica has, they should easily qualify.
